Andrew Widmark, President & CEO
Andy serves as President and CEO of Mark Properties, working in the North Carolina office. As CEO of the Company and general partner of a number of real estate investment entities, Andy formulates the operating and leasing strategy for a substantial portfolio of properties. Andy has been involved in the real estate industry for more than thirty years. Prior to the formation of the company in 1987, Andy was a Professor of Law at Rutgers School of Law, a practicing attorney, President and CEO of Kerr Concrete Pipe Co., and President and CEO of Galesi Realty Corp. Since 1987, Andy has been a professor of the Practice of Real Estate at Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
After his honorable discharge from the USMC, Andy earned a BS at Farleigh Dickinson University, an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a JD at Rutgers School of Law.
Kathy Markowitz, Executive Vice President
Kathy joined the Company at its inception on a part-time basis, becoming full-time in 1990. Starting in her early teens, Kathy participated in the real estate business on an entry level basis and later diversified her work experience in an ownership capacity in the restaurant field. Well equipped with nearly twenty years of hands-on experience on both the Landlord and Tenant sides of real estate, Kathy currently maintains and operates the New Jersey office, supervising all phases of lease administration, property management and accounting functions.
Kathy earned an honors degree in Economics from Farleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of ICSC and Omicron Delta Epsilon - honor society in Economics.
Kerrine Cumming
Kerrine joined Mark Properties on a part-time basis in 1998, providing an introduction to the business that would build a solid foundation for her return as a full-time employee in 2005 upon the completion of her undergraduate studies. Kerrine is based in the New Jersey office where she currently handles all accounting functions, collections, lease administration and the full property management of two shopping centers located in Frederick, Maryland and Yorktown, Virginia. Her day-to-day tenant interaction has advanced her knowledge of the property management business and has enabled her to make key decisions in the field.
Kerrine earned dual B.S. degrees in History and Asian Languages and Cultures from the colleges of Hobart and William Smith.
Troy Gordon, Leasing Representative and Property Manager
Troy balances his leasing activities while serving as the Propery Manager for the company's NC properties. Troy joined Mark Properties as an on-site manager in a Company-owned property in Spring Hill, Florida in 1996 and was subsequently promoted to full-time property management. Now based in the North Carolina office, Troy's duties include leasing, regular visits to properties for site inspection, business development, and service as "in-person" landlord/tenant/vendor liaison.
Troy has been a licensed real estate broker since 1981 and is currently licensed in North Carolina and Florida.
Matthew Hobbs, Assistant Vice President
Matt joined the North Carolina office in 2004. His broad responsibilities include new business development, acquisitions, due diligence and analysis, and multiple special projects. Previous to his joining the company, Matt gained broad experiences as owner of a high-end custom furniture business and as a plant engineer in a forest products company.
Matt holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University, an MA in Early American Culture from the University of Delaware/Winterthur Museum, and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Matt is also a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina.
